13 Mandi wards all set for voting, 42 candidates in fray

He stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner. A total of 42 candidates are contesting across the 14 wards.

According to the administration, the Municipal Corporation area has a total of 31,263 registered voters, including 15,368 men and 15,895 women.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that Ward No. 1, Khaliyar, has the highest number of voters at 2,892, while Ward No. 8, Palace Colony-1, has the lowest at 1,327 voters.

To facilitate smooth polling, the administration has set up 36 polling stations across the Municipal Corporation area. A total of 413 officials have been deployed for election duty.

He added that all polling stations have been equipped with essential facilities and adequate security arrangements. Polling personnel have already been trained, and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) along with other election materials have been dispatched to their respective stations.

He further said that police and administrative officials have been instructed to maintain law and order during the election process.

Appealing to voters to participate enthusiastically in the democratic exercise, Devgan urged citizens to cast their votes fearlessly within the stipulated hours and contribute towards strengthening democracy.
