He said, “The first day began with a warm welcome for the students by the school family, including the principal, AFS coordinator, CIS students and staff, followed by an introduction session and a dinner.” He added that on the second day, a special assembly introduced Himachali culture through a lively performance of Kulluvi Nati, after which the group visited Manali.
The day three focused on heritage and local entrepreneurship, with trips to the Tripura Sundari Temple, Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, a traditional Kath-Kuni architecture centre and a local Kulut Kombucha production unit under the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, he said. He added that the fourth day involved an adventurous trek to Bijli Mahadev Temple, where students understood its religious and cultural significance while enjoying breathtaking views of the valley and snow-capped mountains.
On the fifth day, they travelled through the Atal Tunnel to Sissu in Lahaul-Spiti, enjoying snowy landscapes and zip-lining, which offered insight into Himachal’s geographical diversity. The sixth day saw visits to the Bajaura Shiva Temple and Sarabai Buddhist Monastery, highlighting religious harmony, followed by a walk through Dhalpur market to observe local life.
The seventh day celebrated Earth Day with a special assembly, cultural performances by both schools, an exhibition, a visit to Bhuttico and a friendly basketball match that strengthened bonds. The emotional farewell evening was filled with music and dance, including Kulluvi Nati and Indore’s dance forms, and the principal presented mementos.
School chairman Rajeev Sharma said that the exchange was a multidimensional experience, connecting students with India’s cultural diversity, religious harmony, and natural beauty.
