He reviewed development works during his one-day visit to the Theog Assembly constituency in Shimla district. He inspected the under-construction Theog-Tiali-Dhamandari-Sainj road and the dumping site of the Tiali-Nahol link road. At a public meeting in Rahaighat, he stated that 16 roads had been awarded for the Theog Assembly constituency under the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
Addressing a public meeting at Tiali, he said the Fagu-Chyog-Dhamandri-Sainj road was old and required periodic metaling and tarring. “However, due to local demand and increasing traffic congestion, an upgrade for the road is necessary and construction is underway. The road upgrade will ensure quality and timely completion of the culverts at the required locations,” he said. The Shakildhar-Nahol link road will be constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore, he announced.
He said Rs 200 crore would be spent on upgrading the Yashwant Nagar-Chhaila-Neripul road, which was crucial for development. “This road would facilitate transportation and access to the apple market for the people of Sainj, Chhaila, Kotkhai, Jubbal and Rohru,” he said.
He directed officials to investigate into complaints of dumping by the contractor on the Tiali-Nahol road. “If the dumping is not being done at the designated locations, the DFO should take necessary action as per the rules,” he said.
The minster also heard problems of residents of Tiali, Nahol, Balg, Dadas, Dhamandari.
