The chief minister noted that Meghalaya, which had no five-star hotels five years ago, now has two operational, with eight more in the pipeline. Agreements for these hotels have been signed, and construction has begun on four.

Regarding sports infrastructure, Sangma said the upcoming football stadium will be the largest dedicated football stadium in the country and can host international matches. Meghalaya is also preparing to host the National Games next year.
