The police received a complaint from a woman who reported that a group of youths on motorcycles snatched her gold chain and fled. Based on the description and CCTV footage, a team was formed to track the suspects.

Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the accused near a bus stand. All nine were taken into custody and the stolen gold chain was recovered from their possession. The accused are residents of Punjab and were staying in Mandi temporarily.

Senior police officials confirmed that the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Further interrogation is on to ascertain if they were involved in similar crimes in the region.
