The operation was carried out on Saturday, July 11, 2026, under police protection, following directives issued by the District Magistrate during a Samadhan Diwas.

Several individuals had set up temporary structures and stalls on the Irrigation Department's property, obstructing the Nagar Panchayat's plans to construct a passenger waiting area, public toilets, and a water cooler. The illegal occupation had been a hurdle for civic development in the area.

During the Samadhan Diwas held at the police station, the District Magistrate instructed the Executive Officer to immediately remove the encroachments. Acting swiftly, EO Dinesh Chandra led a team of Nagar Panchayat officials and police personnel to the site. They dismantled the temporary sheds and cleared the land, restoring it to its rightful use.

The Executive Officer announced that a special drive to clear temporary encroachments from the town's market area would begin on Monday. Inspired by the Hamirpur Municipal Council's approach, the Nagar Panchayat plans to install railings along roadsides to prevent future encroachments. The District Magistrate has also directed the EO and the Station House Officer to register FIRs and take stringent action against anyone attempting to re-occupy the cleared land.
