Cast Details

The cast members for each team are as follows (previously announced cast members denoted with *):

  • St. Arrows: Toshio Furukawa (Danpei Ichigeki), among others.
  • Tosa Attackers: Additional cast members include Yūki Kaji, Yūma Uchida, and Kōki Uchiyama.
  • US Buffaloes: Cast includes Hiroshi Kamiya, Daisuke Ono, and Miyu Irino.
  • Black Armors: Cast includes Junichi Suwabe, Tomokazu Sugita, and Noriaki Sugiyama.

Toshio Furukawa, who voiced Danpei Ichigeki in the earlier anime, is reprising the role of Danpei in the new anime's scenes set in the past, as well as narrating this sequel anime.

Staff and Production

Yoshihiro Takamoto (director of Kemono Friends seasons 1 and 2, Show By Rock!! seasons 1 and 2, Hulaing Babies seasons 1 and 2) is directing the anime at Studio Hibari. Michiko Yokote (series composition for Kemono Friends, Show By Rock!!, Hulaing Babies) is in charge of series scripts, and Yōsuke Yamauchi (character design for Kemono Friends, Show By Rock!!) is designing the characters and also serving as the chief animation director.

Girl group i☆Ris performs the opening theme song "Kaishin no Ichigeki" (A Masterful Play), and voice acting idol unit Run Girls, Run! performs the ending theme song "Welcome to Azatosa World."

Additional staff members include: Art director Yūji Ikeda, color designer Yumi Kato, director of photography Yūki Nagai, and sound director Hiromi Kikuta.

Broadcast Information

The anime will premiere on July 6 on TV Tokyo and BS TV Tokyo at 11:00 p.m. JST, then on other networks on July 7.

Manga Background

Koshita serialized the original Hono no Tokyojo Dodgeball manga (for which this anime is a sequel) in Shogakukan's Monthly Shōnen Sunday magazine from 1989 to 1995. The manga has 18 volumes. The manga inspired a television anime series from TV Tokyo that aired from 1991 to 1992 for 47 episodes. Koshita launched the sequel manga on the MangaONE app in November 2022. Shogakukan published the sixth compiled book volume in August 2025.
