New Cast and Character

Akiyo Ōhashi will voice Mana Shinomiya, a demon operating in the shadows, seeking power. The story is set on the island country Mizuho in the far east, where Shiina Kuze lives on an isolated island. She is a hunter tasked with eradicating invasive species and wishes to live a quiet life with her sister Setsuna.

Staff and Production

Masaki Tsuzuki, co-creator of the original series, is credited as the original story creator and scriptwriter. Noriaki Akitaya returns from previous Nanoha works to direct at Seven Arcs. Yūki Itō serves as both character designer and chief animation director, while Atsuhiro Iwakami is credited for original character designs. Kōhei Tanaka performs the ending theme song 'Ephemeral.'

Broadcast Details

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 channels on July 4 at 25:00 JST (effectively July 5 at 1:00 a.m.) with a special hour-long broadcast.

In addition to the new anime, a manga titled 'Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: The Movie 20th Anniversary Selection' launched on Kadokawa's Comic Walker (Wednesday Sirius) service in April 2025. Masaki Tsuzuki is drafting the original story concept, with art by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. The 20th anniversary projects also include a television edit version of the first two anime films, which began airing in October 2024.

Background

Writer Masaki Tsuzuki, director Noriaki Akitaya, and studio Seven Arcs launched the franchise in 2004 with the 13-episode Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha television anime. Four more TV series followed, culminating with Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid in 2015 and the spinoff ViVid Strike! in 2016. Two movies adapted the first two series in 2010 and 2012, with two more movies released in 2017 and 2018. Crunchyroll released both films on Blu-ray Disc in August and September 2023. The franchise has also spawned several manga, novels, and drama CDs.
