The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the tentative answer key and candidates’ response sheets for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 (Tier 1). The answer key was uploaded on 4 November 2026 on the official website, ssc.gov.in. Candidates can check their recorded answers against the tentative key and raise objections until 7 November 2026, 9:00 PM.

The SSC notice (No. HQ-C11018/5/2026-C-1 (E-16368), dated 4 November 2026) says the response sheets and tentative answer keys will not be available after the window closes, and individual requests for later access will not be entertained — so candidates should download and save a copy before 7 November, 9:00 PM.

The exam and the vacancies

The Tier 1 examination was held from 30 September to 28 October 2026 at centres across the country. A total of 28,52,665 candidates appeared. The recruitment is for 12,256 Group B and Group C vacancies.

Tier 1 is a qualifying and screening stage only — its marks are not counted in the final merit.

How to raise an objection

  • Log in on ssc.gov.in with your Registration Number and Password.
  • Open the response sheet and tentative answer key for CGL 2026 Tier 1.
  • Submit objections online only, through the challenge module, from 4 November 2026, 9:00 PM to 7 November 2026, 9:00 PM.
  • The fee is ₹50 per question or answer challenged, with valid supporting documents.
  • Representations received after 9:00 PM on 7 November 2026 will not be entertained, and objections sent in any other mode will not be entertained either.

Submitting an objection does not guarantee a change in the answer key or an increase in marks — objections are first checked by a subject matter expert, and the final answer key is prepared after that review.

What comes next

The final answer key is likely to be released by the end of November 2026. The Tier 1 result is expected in December 2026 — the first week of December, according to Testbook — but no result date has been announced by the Commission, so treat December as an expectation, not a confirmed date. The Tier 2 computer-based examination is tentatively planned for December 2026. No cut-off marks have been released.
