The last date to register for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 has been extended to 7 November 2026. The Consortium of National Law Universities extended the deadline from 31 October after requests from candidates. With only one day left, students who want to study law at a National Law University should register immediately.
The exam will be held on Sunday, 6 December 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, in offline mode at centres across India.

What is CLAT?
CLAT is the national entrance test for admission to the 5-year integrated law programmes (BA LLB and similar courses) at 26 National Law Universities across India. It is also used for admission to LLM programmes. The test is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities.
The exam is held offline, in pen-and-paper mode, at around 131 centres across India.
Why this year matters
Registrations for CLAT have risen by about 70% since 2023, and the number of applicants this year may cross 1 lakh. That means competition for a seat at a top National Law University is tougher than ever. Candidates should use the remaining time to revise, take mock tests, and make sure their application is complete and correct.
How to register
Register online only on the official website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Create an account, fill in your personal and educational details, upload the required documents and photograph, pay the fee, and submit the form before 7 November 2026. Check the official website for the exact application fee for your category.
What to do after registering
- Download your admit card in the third week of November 2026 from the official website. Check your exam centre, reporting time and instructions on the admit card.
- Carry the admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre on 6 December. Reach the centre well before 2:00 PM.
- Revise the exam pattern. CLAT tests English language, current affairs and general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning and quantitative techniques. Practise with previous years’ papers and mock tests in the remaining month.
If you have been planning to apply for CLAT 2027, do not wait for the last hour. The portal may slow down on the final day, and the extended deadline of 7 November will not be extended again.
