The 5th edition of Exercise Tiger Triumph, the India–US bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise, opened in Visakhapatnam on 2 November 2026.
What this year’s exercise is
- Opening ceremony: 2 November 2026 at the Maritime Warfare Centre (MWC), Visakhapatnam
- Format: a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) this year — joint planning and coordination, not field manoeuvres
- Firsts: the first time the exercise runs as a tabletop exercise, and the first time India’s NDRF is taking part
- Focus: coordination, joint planning and interoperability between the armed forces of both countries during large-scale disaster relief operations
Who is taking part
The opening ceremony was presided over by Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, and Rear Admiral Joaquin J Martinez de Pinillos, Vice Commander of the US Pacific Fleet. The Indian contingent draws from the Navy, Army, Air Force and Special Forces, alongside the US Joint Force.
Tiger Triumph began in 2019 as the first India–US tri-service exercise and remains the only tri-service HADR exercise India holds with any partner.
