Meta has acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup that lets engineers run multiple AI coding agents in parallel workspaces. The deal was announced on 4 November 2026 — first reported by Axios, confirmed by founder Charlie Holtz on Conductor’s blog and X the same day, and confirmed by Meta to TechCrunch. The terms were not disclosed.

What Conductor does

Conductor, founded in 2024 with its main product launched in July 2025, lets engineers run several AI coding agents at once in parallel workspaces, using agents from Anthropic and OpenAI — not its own models. It raised a $22 million Series A in March 2026 from Spark and Matrix.

Where the team goes

The Conductor team joins Meta Superintelligence Labs, working with Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman. The move follows Meta’s August 2026 launch of Muse Code.

Important dates for Conductor users

  • New sign-ups and downloads stopped: 4 November 2026
  • Conductor Cloud becomes read-only: 13 November 2026
  • Conductor Cloud shuts down: 20 November 2026, then cloud data deletion begins
  • Local desktop app: works until early 2027

Users must export their data before 20 November 2026.
