Cooking gas prices changed on 1 November 2026, and the news is mixed: restaurants and hotels will pay more, but households will not. Oil marketing companies raised the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder for the third month in a row, while the 14.2-kg domestic cylinder stayed exactly where it was.

Commercial cylinder: costlier again

  • Delhi: Rs 2,820, up Rs 10 from Rs 2,810 in October
  • Chennai: Rs 2,994.50, up Rs 11.50 from Rs 2,983
  • Kolkata: Rs 2,971
  • Patna: Rs 3,132
  • Lucknow: Rs 2,942
  • The hike is Rs 10 to Rs 17 across cities, and it came into effect on 1 November, just before Diwali

Domestic cylinder: no change

  • Delhi: Rs 942 for a 14.2-kg cylinder — unchanged since June 2026
  • Mumbai: Rs 941.50
  • Kolkata: Rs 968
  • Chennai: Rs 957.50
  • Households covered by the Ujjwala scheme pay an effective Rs 642 in Delhi after the Rs 300 subsidy

What it means for you

For most families, nothing changes this month — the domestic cylinder price has not moved since June. The pinch falls on commercial users: hotels, restaurants, caterers and street-food vendors, whose gas now costs more for the third straight month. Prices differ by city because of local taxes, so always confirm the rate with your own gas agency before booking.
