Indian Navy stealth frigate INS Sahyadri has completed the India–Republic of Korea Navy (IN-RoKN) bilateral exercise off Busan, South Korea, with the sea phase wrapping up on 2 November 2026.
What the exercise covered
- Harbour phase: 26–29 October 2026 at Busan Naval Harbour — professional exchanges, cross-deck visits, sports events and an onboard reception
- Sea phase: coordinated navigation, cross-deck helicopter landings, search and rescue drills and joint maritime manoeuvres with South Korea’s guided-missile destroyer ROKS Munmu The Great
- INS Sahyadri arrived at Busan on 26 October and has since sailed on to her next mission
Why it matters
This was the second edition of the IN-RoKN bilateral exercise — the first was held at Busan in October 2025, also with INS Sahyadri. The exercise strengthens maritime cooperation and interoperability between the two navies in the Indo-Pacific. INS Sahyadri had come to Busan after Exercise INDRA 2026 with the Russian Navy, departing Vladivostok on 20 October.
