Bitcoin fell below $76,000 in early trading on 6 November 2026, dropping about 6% in 24 hours as a technology-led rout on Wall Street spread to cryptocurrency markets. It was the lowest level for Bitcoin in seven weeks.

Prices are time-stamped snapshots from early 6 November 2026, not closing prices, and they moved quickly through the day.

How far it fell

Bitcoin fell as low as about $75,369 in early trading on 6 November, down 6.29%, before recovering to around $76,101 by 9:35 AM Malaysian time. On the Phemex exchange, Bitcoin showed $75,965 at 03:30 UTC on 6 November, down 5.87% over 24 hours. The 24-hour low across feeds ranged from about $75,259 to $75,369.

Bitcoin has now fallen more than a third from its all-time high. It also failed to sustain a recovery above $80,000 earlier in the week, after briefly breaking through that level on 4 November.

Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, fell harder, plunging 8.51% to about $2,216.58 before rebounding to around $2,240. XRP dropped to about $1.21. Solana lost about 6.74% to $89.06.

Why it fell

The crypto sell-off followed a sharp decline in US equities on 5 November. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite tumbled 5.52%, while the S&P 500 shed 4.36%, amid concerns over artificial intelligence valuations and potential regulatory restrictions. The Nasdaq-100 fell 6.4% in the same session.

Market sentiment was also hit by the reported $6.3 billion Binance security breach, which prompted billions of dollars in withdrawals from the exchange. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds saw about $1 billion in net outflows, of which about $900 million came from BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT.

Liquidations top $1 billion

Leveraged positions were closed in large numbers. Total crypto-market liquidations over 24 hours were roughly $1.03 billion to $1.24 billion, depending on the feed, with about 88–89% of them long positions. Bitcoin-specific liquidations were about $325 million, of which 90.2% were long positions.

Traders are closely watching the $75,000 level. A sustained break below it could open the door to further declines, while a recovery above $80,000 would be needed to change the short-term picture.

This is the crypto angle of the same sell-off covered in our earlier post on the 5 November market close, when the Sensex rallied even as US and Asian tech stocks fell.
