Apple has confirmed its first Apple Intelligence features for China, with Alibaba’s Qwen built into Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence. Apple announced it in its China newsroom on 31 October 2026.
What is coming
- Developer testing started on 4 November 2026; users get the features with iOS 27.3 in December
- First wave: Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime and Phone, Writing Tools, Visual Intelligence, Clean Up in Photos, Genmoji, and notification and Mail summaries
- Works on iPhone 16 and later, iPhone Duo, iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and iPhone Air, in English or Simplified Chinese
- Users must opt in; Qwen receives questions, documents or images only with your agreement, and Alibaba will not use them to train models
What it does NOT include
This launch does not include Siri AI or the next-generation features Apple showed at WWDC 2026. Those are separate and remain unconfirmed for China.
