What applicants should do now

  • Check the HPPSC website regularly for the screening test admit card and the exact exam centres. The 6 December date is tentative, so confirm it on hppsc.hp.gov.in before making travel plans.
  • Keep your OTR login ready. Applications were made through the Commission’s One Time Registration portal, and the admit card will be available through the same login.
  • Revise the MBBS syllabus. The screening test is expected to cover the MBBS curriculum, including medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, community medicine and pharmacology.
  • Do not pay anyone for the admit card or a posting. HPPSC does not charge for admit cards, and no agent can guarantee a selection.

Why this recruitment matters

Himachal’s government hospitals and health centres have long faced a shortage of doctors, especially in rural and remote areas. The 228 Medical Officer posts are one of the largest doctor recruitments in the state in recent years, and the selected doctors will serve across government hospitals and healthcare establishments statewide.

For the doctors who applied, the screening test on 6 December is the first step. Those who qualify will be called for the next stage of selection as per the Commission’s rules.
