Deepfake voice calls to families

Overview

A ‘son in Mandi’ voice asking for bail money is now cheap to fake. Agree a family code word.

• Family code
• Call back
• First hour rule

How to

Hang up. Call back on the number you already have. Do not send money in the first hour.

Safety

Police in HP have seen these. File on the National Cyber Crime portal if money moved.
