₹3 crore grant for Bairagarh School
During an interaction with students at Tissa, the Chief Minister announced a grant of ₹3 crore for the construction of a school laboratory and additional classrooms at Bairagarh School in Chamba district.
Students asked the Chief Minister about making decisions and about the steps being taken to prevent drug abuse. He encouraged them to work hard and aim for success in life, and said challenges would arise at every stage of life, but those who make the right decisions at the right time without fear are the ones who create history.
The fight against drugs
The Chief Minister said the state government was taking strict action against drug mafias and that there was no place in Himachal Pradesh for those involved in the illegal drug trade. He appealed to people to inform the police about drug traffickers by calling the emergency helpline number 112.
Anti-chitta rallies and awareness programmes are being organised across the state to educate young people and the general public about the harmful effects of chitta and other intoxicating substances and to encourage them to stay away from drugs.
At the national level, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, works on community-led prevention of drug abuse.
