Berkshire Hathaway will report its third-quarter 2026 results today, Saturday, 7 November 2026, at about 7:00 AM Central Time (about 6:30 PM IST). The earnings release and the quarterly report on Form 10-Q will be posted on the company’s website, berkshirehathaway.com.

It is the third quarterly result since Greg Abel took over as chief executive on 1 January 2026. Warren Buffett stepped down as chairman in September 2026 and is now Chairman Emeritus, while remaining a member of the board.

What analysts expect

According to Zacks data, analysts expect Berkshire’s third-quarter revenue to be about 97.3 billion dollars, up 2.5 percent from a year ago, with earnings per share of about 5.91 dollars, down 5.6 percent from a year ago.

Morningstar expects third-quarter operating earnings to rise by mid-to-high single digits from a year ago, despite weaker underwriting results from Berkshire’s insurance operations, with the major non-insurance businesses offsetting the pressure in insurance.

What the market will watch

  • Insurance underwriting profit: the performance of Berkshire’s insurance businesses, including GEICO, is the first number investors check.
  • Rail and energy: the performance of BNSF Railway and Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
  • The cash pile: Berkshire held about 364.7 billion dollars in cash and US Treasury bills at the end of the second quarter of 2026, down from a record 380.2 billion dollars three months earlier.
  • Buying and buybacks: Berkshire was a net buyer of about 20 billion dollars in equities in the second quarter. It repurchased 4.5 billion dollars of its own shares between April and June and bought another 3.3 billion dollars worth in July.

The second quarter, in brief

Berkshire’s second-quarter results were strong. Operating profit rose 16 percent from a year ago to 12.98 billion dollars, beating analyst expectations. Revenue rose 10 percent to 101.81 billion dollars, while net income more than doubled to 25.67 billion dollars. The net income figure includes unrealised gains and losses on Berkshire’s investments.

The shares

Class B shares closed at 572.33 dollars on 5 November and are up about 11 percent in 2026, according to Morningstar. On 22 October, UBS analyst Brian Meredith raised his price target for Berkshire Class B shares from 604 dollars to 628 dollars and kept a Buy rating. The average analyst price target for Class B shares was 555.67 dollars as of 6 November, with the highest target at 628 dollars and the lowest at 510 dollars.

Investors will judge Abel on two things Buffett was rarely judged on together: running the operating businesses well and investing the cash pile wisely.
