Apple prices in Himachal Pradesh mandis are running well above last year this November. The state’s average apple price stood at Rs 8,994 per quintal as of 6 November 2026, and the November 2026 monthly average of Rs 9,264 is 17.1% higher than last November, according to APMC and Agmarknet mandi data.

The rise comes in a year when the apple harvest itself fell sharply — down by about half in many areas, with losses estimated at up to Rs 2,000 crore. Lower supply has pushed prices up for the fruit that did reach the mandis.

Mandi-wise prices

MandiPrice (per quintal)Date
ShimlaRs 13,9605 November 2026
SirmaurRs 11,8216 November 2026
SolanRs 11,1314 November 2026
MandiRs 9,8166 November 2026
KangraRs 8,8346 November 2026

Prices vary by grade and variety. At the Parala (Kangni) mandi in Shimla district, Grade A apples traded between Rs 6,000 and Rs 22,000 per quintal on 6 November, with a modal price of Rs 14,000. At the Nadaun mandi in Hamirpur district, Grade B apples traded between Rs 12,000 and Rs 13,000 per quintal on 7 November, with a modal price of Rs 12,500.

What this means for growers

Higher prices are some relief for orchardists after a difficult season, but they do not make up for the lost crop. A grower who harvested only half the usual quantity earns more per box, yet still takes home less overall than in a normal year. Prices also change daily and differ sharply between grades, so growers should check the day’s APMC rates for their nearest mandi before selling, rather than relying on a single day’s figure.

What this means for buyers

Consumers in the plains are likely to keep paying more for Himachali apples this season. Retail prices in Delhi and other cities are usually higher than mandi prices, because transport, packing, cold storage and trader margins are added on top.
