  • Assistant Director (Digital Forensic), Advt 67/10-2026: 1 post (UR), ₹40,500 per month
  • Scientific Officer (Digital Forensic), Advt 68/10-2026: 1 post (UR), ₹28,000 per month

Who can apply

  • Education: 2nd class M.Sc. in Forensic Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Forensics or Physics, OR MCA, OR a Master’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, IT or ECE)
  • Experience: 7 years after qualification for Assistant Director; 3 years for Scientific Officer (PhD research counts toward the experience)
  • Age: 18–45 years — the notification does not state the reference date, so check the official notification for it
  • Desirable: PhD, and knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh

How selection works

  • Paper-I (screening test): 100 marks, 1 hour — HP General Knowledge 30, national and international General Knowledge 30, Hindi 20, English 20, with negative marking of 0.25
  • Paper-II (descriptive subject test): 120 marks, 3 hours; pass marks 45% for General, 40% for reserved categories
  • Personality test after the written tests
