The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (I) 2026. This exam is for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA (157th Course) and the Indian Naval Academy (119th Course), commencing from 1 January 2027.
This is a premier opportunity for young, unmarried male and female aspirants to begin their career as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.

The total number of vacancies is 394, distributed across the following Wings/Courses (for both male and female candidates):

Unmarried Male and Female candidates are eligible.
Candidates must be born not earlier than 2 July 2007 and not later than 1 July 2010.
The age range is strictly between 16.5 to 19.5 years as of the date of course commencement.
For Army Wing (NDA): Must have passed the 12th Class or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings (NDA) & Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry): Must have passed the 12th Class or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the 12th Class are also eligible to apply, but must produce proof of passing the exam at the time of the SSB Interview.

Visit the Official UPSC Website: Navigate to the official UPSC online portal (upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in).
Complete One-Time Registration (OTR): If not already registered, complete the OTR process to get a Universal Registration Number (URN).
Fill the Application Form: Log in and select the link for “National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2026.”
Part I: Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and preferred service/wing.
Part II: Upload the required documents (Photograph, Signature, and Photo ID proof).
Pay the Application Fee: Pay the ₹100/- fee (if applicable) through online or offline methods.
Select Exam Centre: Choose your preferred exam centre.
Submit and Print: Submit the final form and save/print the confirmation page for your records.
